Portraits of Courage: President George W. Bush’s Tribute to America’s Veterans

June 28–Sept. 3, 2019

Portraits of Courage: President George W. Bush’s Tribute to America’s Veterans offers an exclusive glimpse of the unique perspective of a Commander-In-Chief using art to recognize the service and sacrifice of men and women who were under his command. The men and women highlighted in this exhibition are among the approximately five million American veterans of the war on terror. Each has a particular story and different goals for their lives after military service.

A collection of portraits by President George W. Bush on loan from the Ambassador and Mrs. George L. Argyros Collection of Presidential Art at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, a non-profit organization whose Military Service Initiative is focused on helping veterans and their families. Exhibition of this collection in Ottawa is made possible with support from United States Ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft and Mr. Joe Craft.
