The Canadian War Museum invites you to share your story through the In Their Own Voices online form. Personal information for this project is collected under section 9(1)(f) of the Canadian Museums Act. All submissions collected will be kept securely by the Museum for the purpose of selecting subjects for oral history interviews. If selected for an interview, the information you submit via this online form may appear publicly in the Museum’s Collection Search online. The Museum may use the submissions to select potential interview subjects for future projects.
The Museum is committed to including a diverse representation of Canadians and their perspectives within the In Their Own Voices oral history project. With this in mind, we encourage participation from individuals of all cultures, racialized communities, abilities, sexual identities and genders, and more. We invite you to share any and all groups that you identify with in your application form. Please note that this disclosure is entirely optional.
Under the Privacy Act, you have the right to request access to, and ask for correction to, your personal information contained in the online form. Also, you have the right to complain to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada should you not be satisfied with the Canadian War Museum’s handling of your personal information contained in the online form.
