Operation HAMLET

Canadian soldiers were deployed on Operation HAMLET from 2004 to 2017, in support of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti. The mission was established after the Haitian government requested international assistance to restore the country’s stability and security following a long period of violence.

This photograph, taken in 2013, shows Corporal Marc-Daniel Benoit (left) and Sergeant David Lapalme (right) of 2nd Battalion, Royal 22e Regiment handing out supplies to children in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
